Our Services:
In addition to the services available at the IVFAustralia Alexandria Fertility Clinic, our Male Fertility Clinic offers:
Microdissection Testicular Sperm Retrieval
Microdissection testicular sperm extraction, or microTESE, is an advanced surgical technique used to search for and obtain any available sperm in each testis, using a surgical microscope. This technique is often utilised for men who have no sperm in their semen, otherwise referred to as azoospermia. Azoospermia is one of the common causes of male infertility.
Any sperm obtained from the microTESE procedure can be used in an IVF or ICSI (intracytoplasmic sperm injection) cycle. Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) is performed as an additional part of an IVF treatment cycle where a single sperm is injected into each egg to assist fertilisation using very fine micro-manipulation equipment.
Extended Sperm Search:
This is another technique utilised for men who have been told there is no sperm in their semen. Most laboratories utilise a computer assisted analysis that takes a quick glance at the sample and issues a report. Our laboratories utilise a highly skilled scientist trained to spot very low number of sperm by performing extended searches for up to 4 hours.
Vasectomy Reversal
Some men who have had a vasectomy will decide later that they want to have more children. This can be achieved by either a vasectomy reversal or assisted reproductive technology such as IVF. We specialise in vasectomy reversal at the Male Fertility Clinic.
A vasectomy reversal, or vasovasostomy, is a surgical procedure performed using microsurgery to reconnect the vas deferens cut during a vasovasostomy. This is a day only procedure conducted under general anaesthetic, with surgery typically taking 2-4 hours and requiring at least one week recovery to aid healing and prevent injury.
Post vasectomy fertility
Utilising varying techniques to obtain Sperm from the testis to get the best results to achieve a pregnancy.
Fertility preservation:
For patients who are about to undergo Chemotherapy and radiotherapy, we offer sperm freezing technologies to allow preserving of male fertility.
Hormone treatment:
Anabolic steroid usage can lead to decreased and/or completely stop sperm production. In our clinic, we aim to restore natural hormones to restart sperm production again.
