Dr Marcela Martin

Marcela is an experienced fertility specialist with a gynaecological surgery and general obstetrics background. She cares for patients with a wide range of fertility concerns. 

Marcela obtained her medical degree from the University of Sydney, before training in various hospitals in New South Wales, including St George, Sutherland and the Royal Hospital for Women. She also holds an Honours degree in Genetics from the University of New South Wales. 

As well as being a fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and attaining a Master of Reproductive Medicine, Marcela is now clinical director of IVFAustralia Kogarah & Miranda fertility clinics, as well as UNSW Conjoint Lecturer.  

Marcela is known for her supportive and caring approach with her patients throughout their fertility treatment and enjoys the reward of helping her patients achieve their dreams of becoming parents.  

One of the most distinctive features of Marcela’s practice is her commitment to carefully explaining the grounds for her medical decisions. By doing so, she ensures that all her patients are well informed of the risks, benefits, and likely outcomes associated with her professional advice and treatment.

She is ably supported by a team of scientists, embryologists and nurses who combine to produce the most effective fertility outcomes in the country. 

Marcela maintains a special interest in preconception genetic screening, recurrent miscarriage, polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), fertility preservation (egg and sperm freezing) and general infertility. She is also able to consult in Spanish if required.
