Genetics clinic

When planning to conceive, many couples will consider their own health, and that of their family, in terms of genetic conditions that they may pass on to their children.

IVFAustralia runs a dedicated in-house Genetics Clinic for patients who wish to discuss the possibility of genetic testing, either for a specific condition or for chromosomal variations, to minimize their chance of passing on a genetic condition to a child.

Who is the IVFAustralia Genetics Clinic suitable for?

The IVFAustralia Genetics Clinic is suitable for patients who:

  • Have, or are carriers of, a known genetic condition themselves;
  • Have previously conceived a baby born with a genetic condition;
  • Carry a known chromosomal change (e.g. patients who have undergone gene therapy treatment)

How can I book into the IVFAustralia Genetics Clinic?

Contact us online, or call us on 1800 111 483.

Your initial contact will be with one of our dedicated fertility nurses. They will ensure your enquiry is passed on to our Genetics team who will then contact you as soon as possible to discuss your individual circumstances.

It is very useful if you are able to gather any specific information about your condition, your family history and/or previous diagnostic test results as you will be asked about this.

If you are found to carry a specific gene disorder which means there is a higher chance of having a child with health problems, we will work with you to provide advice and options on the best way for you to have a healthy baby.
