COVID-19 update

In light of the recent COVID-19 cluster on NSW Northern Beaches, we want to reassure you we are committed to keeping our patients safe.

As of 21 Dec 2020 onwards, we will be asking that anyone entering our clinics wear a mask. If you do not have a mask of your own, we are happy to provide you with one as you enter. In the near future, we are aiming to provide all starting patients with a COVID safety kit which will include a reusable mask, hand sanitiser and additional information.

We want to help as many people as possible to have their families but it is essential that we provide a safe environment for our patients (and staff) with proper social distancing. We ask that the number of people accompanying our patients be kept to a minimum. Where possible, we ask that you attend on your own for routine visits and blood tests. Partners will be welcome to attend for embryo transfers and medical visits but, for all other visits, they will be asked to wait outside the clinic. Other friends and relatives will also be asked to wait outside, unless their assistance is specifically needed for any procedures.

In order to avoid overcrowding, we will also be limiting clinic visits to essential procedures. Many of our patients are tracking their cycle on either a natural cycle or using oral fertility drugs. We will provide you with the referral forms and personalised support via telephone, as well as your ultrasounds. Where you are using injectable fertility drugs, we will continue to carry out all the monitoring in our clinic.

Our specialists now have access to sophisticated telehealth systems, to provide you with the best experience available in telehealth, no matter where you are located. This will give you the choice of either opting to have your consultation with your specialist in the privacy and convenience of your own home or to come in to one of our clinics for a personal discussion. In general, we recommend that routine discussions with your specialist be organised via telehealth. If, however, there are more difficult and/or sensitive conversation topics, we encourage you to attend the clinic for a face to face consult.

The above measures ensure that your IVFAustralia clinic continue to be a safe place where we can assist you in growing your family.

If you have any questions or would like to book an appointment, please don’t hesitate to contact our team on 1800 111 483.

Kind regards,

A/Prof Peter Illingworth
