CODE OF CONDUCT

Purpose of IVFAustralia Fertility Forum


The IVFAustralia Fertility Forum is an online community for IVFAustralia patients, who are currently undergoing a treatment cycle, or are in between treatment cycles, to share ideas and knowledge, and support each other.  It is designed to provide a forum for these patients to engage in open, informative and supportive discussion about fertility issues and their treatment with IVFAustralia.


General principles

Our forum is moderated because we believe it needs to be a harmonious and safe environment for all participants.  The moderators will do their best to ensure that any issues are resolved in the fairest manner with the general well-being of the majority of forum members in mind. As a last resort, any member that does not show respect for these principles may be banned from the forum.


How are forum posts moderated?

1. This fertility forum is moderated by IVFAustralia


We reserve the right to edit or remove posts that contradict the terms outlined in this code of conduct.


We also reserve the right, but undertake no duty, to review, edit, move or delete any material provided for display or placed on the forum, in its sole discretion, without notice.


IVFAustralia will remove posts that are:

  • Abusive, defamatory, discriminatory or otherwise unlawful,
  • Factually wrong and misleading,
  • Endorsing commercial products or activities or solicit business – this will not be accepted,
  • Unconstructive or inconsistent with the purpose of the fertility forum,
  • Specific mentions of staff members at IVFAustralia including IVFAustralia Fertility Specialists, and / or
  • Giving medical advice from one participant to another.


We do not tolerate disruptive activity online, such as:

  • Persistent inappropriate comments, and / or
  • Postings or statements that incite others to violate the terms of use or participate in illegal activities.


IVFAustralia reserves the right to reject contributions from participants who seek to dominate the discussion, and to remove topics of discussion that are considered inappropriate on the forum, without prior notification.


2. Reporting Abusive Posts or Making a Complaint

If you feel a post is abusive or offensive you can report it by emailing info@ivf.com.au.  The forum administrator will receive this directly and assess the comments.  Any posts deemed to be abusive or offensive will be removed immediately. The same process should be followed if you have any general complaints about the behavior of other members on the forum, or any issues in regards to the forum. The forum administrator can take appropriate action at their discretion to resolve the situation.


How to use this forum


1. Please show respect for all members at all times


It is inevitable that there will be differences in opinions between members.  Discussions and debates are welcome, as long as respect is shown for other members and other opinions.


When posting on the forum, please consider what you say about our specialists and staff.  We encourage all patients to let us know directly if they have concerns about our specialists or staff through the IVFAustralia Patient Survey. However, we kindly ask that you do not do this via a public forum.


If you’re not sure whether the content you wish to post is appropriate, please contact the IVFAustralia Forum Administrator at info@ivf.com.au and they will advise you.


2. Post your topics in the correct forum category


To make it easier for new members to find the information they are looking for, and for everyone to respond to posts, please post new topics under the appropriate forum categories. Descriptions are provided for each Forum Category to help you decide where your post should go. If you have a suggestion for a new Forum Category, please email info@ivf.com.au


3. Do not link to third party websites


Please do not link to third party websites from the forum, as it may imply that IVFAustralia endorses that website and the content within - this is a particular concern for medical content.


4. No ‘flame wars’ or unsupportive behavior


Any unsupportive behavior may result in immediate moderation of posts.  Where possible warnings will be given, but should anyone repeatedly show unsupportive behavior or seriously breach these terms and conditions they will be excluded from the forum without any further warning.


5. Inappropriate Language and Use


We do not permit the use of inappropriate or offensive language on the forum. Inappropriate or offensive language includes, but is not limited to, any language or content that is sexually oriented, sexually suggestive, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, profane, hateful, or contains racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable material of any kind. This includes, but is not limited to, the use of punctuation characters or symbols to simulate swearing.  This forum automatically withholds posts containing inappropriate language for assessment by the Administrator.


6. No spam


Spam is not allowed on this forum. This includes any form of advertising whether it’s for a product, group or service.

2.        Researchers


If you are a researcher you must ask the permission of IVFAustralia before conducting any polls or asking questions of our members. You must seek IVFAustralia’s approval prior to recruiting for studies on this website.


3.        Use of IVFAustralia’s Name and Logo


Unless otherwise stated, the IVFAustralia name and logo are the property of IVFAustralia.  This site or any portion of this site may not be reproduced, duplicated, copied, sold, re-sold or otherwise exploited for any commercial purpose that is not expressly permitted by IVFAustralia. There are some exceptions for the genuine use of this site or as otherwise permitted by the Commonwealth Copyright Act 1968.


TERMINATION OF USAGE


This forum is for the exclusive use of current patients of IVFAustralia, who are currently undergoing treatment cycles.  Please notify us on info@ivf.com.au if you are no longer a patient.


We will deregister users who have not accessed the forum in a three month period.  If you are deregistered, you can regain access by contacting the forum Administrator at info@ivf.com.au.


IVFAustralia reserves the right to ban a user at any time, without notice, if that user continues to post inappropriate threads for discussion or that breaks this Code of Conduct.

Use of material supplied by you

By sending messages, uploading files, inputting data, or engaging in any other form of communication through the website, you grant us a royalty-free, perpetual, non-exclusive, unrestricted, worldwide license to use that communication solely for the purpose of running this website.


Materials posted by others


You agree that IVFAustralia is not responsible, and shall have no liability to you, for any information or materials posted by others, including defamatory, offensive or illicit material, even material that violates this Agreement.


Indemnification


You agree to indemnify IVFAustralia and its affiliates, committee, agents, representatives and third party service providers, and to defend and hold each of them harmless, from any and all claims and liabilities (including legal fees) which may arise from your submissions, from your unauthorised use of material obtained through the forum, or from your breach of this Agreement, or from any such acts through your use of the forum.
