Hi Angel,
I had my scan at just over 6 weeks, they could find the heart beat and it was strong! i couldnt hear it-to early. with my second scan at 9 weeks you could see the babies heart beating, so i could see a flutter!! it was very exciting!!
Take one day at a time!! thats what i am doing!

Angel - think of you. The agonising wait between seeing the sac and heartbeat is really hard. If everything is the correct size there shouldn't be any issues. It's more if the sizes are also wrong that I'd be worried. I've been where you are and it's really hard.

Hi Angel
Congrats on your pregnancy. It sounds promising if your sac and embryo are the right size. I hope that on your next ultrasound you will see a heartbeat. Sending happy thoughts your way, take care and keep warm, Di xx

Hi Nic,
Congratulations on your pregnancy! Just have a few questions for you ... When did you have your 1st ultrasound? How was your results during your 1st scan? I just had my 1st ultrasound yesterday and I am 6 & 1/2 weeks already. The embryo and sac are there and at the right size, but they could not detect a heartbeat. They scheduled me for another ultrasound next week to check if the embryo will further develop and hopefully will have a heartbeat by then. I am thinking the ultrasound was a bit early as I've read that it can usually be detected at 8 weeks. Hope you can shed some light as I am a bit worried.
Angel

If the spotting is pink and brown this could be old blood. If it is bright red then this is new blood. If you need to put your mind at ease, keep ringing the nurses. A lot of people spot during pregnancy (apparently)! Glad everything is great Nic!

Congratulations Nic. It's never going to be easy to relax after the roller coaster of IVF but 10 weeks is great going. Some people have bleeding throughout their pregnancy so if everything else appears ok to the satisfaction of your doctors, you shouldn't let the spotting upset you. Try to enjoy the experience - might be easier said than done!
