Oh Leigh you must be beside yourself. We need to form some sort of waiting club.
Ellie - I know it's awful isn't it. They told me that the maternity ward was a possibility when I had my D&C recently and I couldn't believe it could get any worse. Must have been horrible for you xx

Hi Leigh, I know how this feels. I found out i was pregnant in 2009, then after 6 weeks it was confrirmed that there was no heartbeat and i needed to have a currette. I cried for two weeks, to make things worse they placed me in the matermity ward as i needed to stay overnight. goodluck :)

AARRGGHH - Still NOTHING!! No AF, no spotting - even no cramps! :( It's so fustrating. Nothing I can do but wait.... I called the clinic this morning and the nurse said it can take a few weeks for a natural miscarriage to occur. It's 2 weeks tomorrow since they confirmed I was no longer pregnant - I just want to move on and start cycle number 8

All - Any idea how long I'll have to wait for AF to arrive? My last progesterone was last thursday (29th) yet there is still no sign of AF arriving. With my 6 failed cycles I'd get a period within 2 days of stopping the progesterone. I know this is slightly different as I had a BFP - only for a few days - but I'd thought I'd of had a natural miscarriage by now considering its been 8 days .

Thanks guys - I'm doing ok. My friend Sauv Blanc helped last night :)
We are going to see Dr Sacks again on August 10th to discuss the next steps. I am delighted that I actually got a BFP - my first ever so Sacks did something right. I just need to hold on to the pregnancy next time.
I'll take a month off but will try again.

HCG levels came back at 2.9 so I just have to wait for my period.
I guess it just wasnt meant to be this time.

The clinic have changed my blood test from Tuesday to tomorrow morning now so I don't have long to wait to see what's going on.
I'd like to think I'm still pregnant but am trying to be realistic - a BFP followed by a BFN is not a good sign.
Anyone else having a blood test tomorrow??

Im not to sure what's going on to be honest. Although the spotting stopped I did another HPT this morning and it was -
I guess all I can do is wait until Tuesday when they do another blood test.

LeighB - Each step further along in a cycle gives us encouragement. Hopefully this BFP will be enough to keep you hanging in there for another go - you've come so close this time.
Di - Unfortunately conceiving without intervention is not possible for me no matter how relaxed I am. I don't have any fallopian tubes and my infertility was caused by extensive surgery and infection. So, I'm afraid IVF is the only way forward for me. Nevertheless I plan on enjoying a few bevvies this weekend and letting my hair down while I take a month off!
Cheers,
Stef.

Leigh I am sorry to hear about the HCG levels, fingers crossed that they will increase.
On the positive side it is wonderful to know that you can fall pregnant (first time ever like you said). I know you must be going through mixed emotions at the moment, but try to think positive. I am sure there will be great news for you soon. Thinking of you, big hug, and keep safe and warm, Di xx

I just got a call from the clinic - BFP!!
BUT - My levels are really low (HCG is only 29) so that along with the spotting I'm having they are not expecting the pregnacy to continue. I have to go back on Tuesday for another blood test.
So on one hand I'm excited that I've got a BFP - my first ever but its being taken away by a m/c straight away :(

Stef - If I get a call back today with BFN then I too will be taking a month off. I wasn't planning on doing an 8th cycle but now I think I will give it another go afterall.

Hi Leigh,
I know it is hard but try not to give up hope just yet.
A friend of my had spotting about a week after her transfer - more than just a couple of spots - she thought it was complete AF - but when she went for her BT found out that she was pregnant with twins!
apparently bleeding can be fairly common with twins - and looking back i saw you had two embies transfered...so you never know!!
when i got my positive a month ago i had had some spotting before BT too...
I know you probably won't sleep much tonight but try and relax as much as you can....as the one of the nurses once said to me " remember it aint over til the fat lady sings"!
thinking of you and wishing on the full moon that you get a lovely surprise.
Take care

Hi LeighB,
At least with the blood test being brought forward they will put you out of your misery a bit quicker.
I had mine this morning and as I expected, it was a BFN. I'm trying to focus on the positive aspects but it's bloody hard. Yet again there's another baby born to someone at work that's been posted on our intranet site. I swear another one pops up on that site every single week!
It's not that I begrudge other people their happiness. I am just impatient that it's not my turn yet. And there is also that little voice in the back of my head saying "maybe it's not meant to happen at all for me????"
My plan now is to take a month off then go for a FET. Maybe the next one will be "the one".
I hope you are ok with all that's happening to you at the moment. This process can be so cruel and heartbreaking. Hang in there. It takes strong people to get through this process - but we need to keep reminding ourselves that it will be worth it if we succeed.
Stef.

All - Just thought I'd let you know I started spotting today (7 days after my transfer) - So I'm assuming it's game over for my 7th cycle :(
The clinic are moving my blood test up to tomorrow just to make sure there is no pregnancy hormones there. I really dont know why I thought I was going to get a BFP this time. I'm not that lucky

Jude - All the best for Thursday. I'm sure all will be going well. Enjoy your holiday and get loads of rest.
My BT is Friday 30th - so I have another 9 days to wait. Will try not to do a home test but I will probably give in.
Di - I also had a long cycle this time - it's really drags on but I guess the clinic can control our hormones better on a long cycle. I certainly produced the most number of egg this time around. Good luck for your Wednesday BT.
I too am on the clexane injections - they are NOT fun, such a blunt needle, after 8 days now I'm sort of used to them. I'm also on prednisolone tablets so with taking the two of them I hope I get my BFP.

Hey Jude (lol makes me think of the Beatles song everytime I see your name hehe)
I am doing the Lucrin Injections instead of the Nasal Spray, as much as I hate needles I just find it more convenient to do the injections once a day rather than the spray twice daily. Next appointment is Wednesday 28th, so will hopefully be starting Gonal and Pregnyl Injections then, hhhmmm three needles at once, now that is going to be interesting Then will be on Clexane Injections (horrible, horrible needles) daily after Egg Collection....
So you are having your scan this Thursday, I am sure everything will be fine and it will put your mind at ease when you get to see your little one in there, I am so excited for you. How long are you on hols for, will you have access to a computer whilst away to keep us updated. Anyways Jude I am sending you heaps of happy thoughts for Thursday and please let us know how you go okay. Thinking of you, take care and keep warm, Di xx

Leigh B - thanks for the thoughts and that is wonderful news about your two embies. The waiting is a killer isn't it? What date is your BETA? I didn't have any frosties either and got a BFP. I only have to wait til Thurs morning for my scan but I can't help but think it'll be bad news - hard not to think this way after what has happened before and sure that my levels were rising more slowly than they should have been. Have decided that if it doesn't work out this time I will definitely push to get 2 transferred next time is possible.
Di - try not to worry about the numbers too much - I know how disappointed I was only to get 5, but as you say it really doesn't matter if you have one good one. Still have everything crossed that mine is continuing to behave! Will be thinking of you for your BT next Weds. It makes it such a long cycle doesn't it when you have the nasal spray? Hugs xx

Hi Leigh, sorry to hear that you have no frosties, but hey you won't need them as I am sure your embies will implant. I have only had one cycle where I had any to freeze. Going okay with this cycle, lol I am very moody, told DH he just has to deal with it hehe.... Next Wednesday go in for the next BT (dreading that after the last BT I had done) to hopefully start Gonal Injections.
Bit nervous already thinking about how many eggs we will get this time as with having only the one ovary we don't get as many eggs as we would like. But at the end of the day as long as one makes it through to transfer that is all that matters hey. Had to laugh last time they managed to get an egg from my right ovary which had been removed two years ago, apparently there had been some tissue left there. Weird but will get them to check with this cycle when it comes to the US for follicles.
Sending you heaps of positive vibes. Keep safe and warm, Di xx

Thanks Di, I spoke too soon as the clinic called and they weren't able to freeze any :(
Hopefully one (or both) of the two I had transferred yesterday will implant! Now if I can just shift this cold I can focus on relaxing!
I've decided not to google every little symptom this cycle (well I'll try not to)
Jude - good luck with your ultrasound
Di - How are you going with this cycle? So far so good?

I ended up with 7 embryos - Had 2 really good blastocysts transferred yesterday and am just awaiting a phonecall to say whether they were able to freeze any or not.
Now I have to wait for my blood test - only 10 days to go but it will be the longest 10 days

Woo Hoo - I got 9 eggs yesterday. Pretty good with only one ovary.
Just need to wait for the phonecall today to see how they are doing.
Just got a call - 8 fertilised and one of those was abnormal so I have 7 left - lets hope they make it to blastocyst

Congrats on your BFP Josie, fantactic news, you must be over the moon.
I've just been for a second ultrasound this morning - things are going well so my collection should be Wednesday.
As you say it is really hard to be positive with each cycle only to get knocked down with yet another BFP. My hubby is being fantastic though - he is positive enough for the two of us.

Just wanted to wish you all the best Leigh. Have everything crossed for you. If you read back over some of the posts there are girls who have had multiple cycles and then it just works one day. One girl was on her 9th I remember and that was going to be her last and she got pregnant with twins!!
Josie - congratulations!!! I am in a similar situation - got a BFP and I was absolutely ecstatic that day, but since then the anxiety has been terrible. I will be 6 weeks on 21st July (I only got my BFP on Weds). Even getting to 6 weeks seems an eternity let alone 12! I have been pregnant naturally before and had early M/Cs which I'm sure is why I'm so anxious. Need to focus on the positive stats! When is your scan? Thinking of you.

Joise congrats on the BFP.
Hope that is gives Melimoo and Leigh lots of hope that it will happen.
Your girls truely are amazing at what you've been through. I thought having a negative FET was bad and considered stopping cycles as I wasn't sure I could cope.

hi Ladies,
I've just started cycle number 8. I have found the more cycles I have, the easier it has been for me (if you can use the word easier when going through IVF lol). I know this sounds really weird but like you said Josie, I think it is a coping mechanism. I try to stay positive and the FS keeps saying it will happen, but I definitely prepare myself for the negative from the onset. I sometimes feel I am just going through the motions and it is an out of body experience and not really happening to me.
Congrats on the bFP Josie. relax and enjoy this time.
Good luck with ET next week Leigh. I really hope this is the cycle for you.
Hope you are well Nosyla.

Hi Leigh,
I have just done my 7th egg collection, 10th transfer after TTC for 4 years....with unexplained infertility. All tests revealed all was ok with both of us but just won't stick each time for some reason.
this cycle i felt really negative although i tried to muster some positive feelings but after being so positive so many times only to end in a BFN it was really hard...
so this time i just sort of felt i was going through the motions and it was easier to protect myself from the disappointment by believing from the beginning that it probably wouldn't work...
so i was more surprised than anyone when we got a BFP!
no idea why - maybe by putting less pressure on myself??? but who knows whether i really did or just tricked myself into believing that...??
just wanted to say that there are some of us out there that have gone through as much as you - and it does work - usually when you least expect it!!
am now 6 weeks and anxiously waiting for the scan.....i thought the 2WW was bad but this is torture! I am paranoid every minute that something will go wrong - or that is was all a big mistake!
Good luck - and hope your dreams come true soon.

I've just joined this forum but have been going through IVF for a couple of years - trying naturally for 12 months before that.
I am due to have my 7th egg collection early next week and to be honest Im not too sure what to feel. I want to be excited and hopeful that it will work this time but the other half of me is scared it will end in a BFN again.
Anyone else had this many cycles?
