As an IVFAustralia patient, you’ll have access to the most advanced assisted reproductive technology in Australia.
We invest extensively into scientific research to continually improve outcomes for our patients, and our team of scientists can now offer a wide range of techniques to maximise your chances of pregnancy success.
If you’re over 38 years of age and have had an unsuccessful IVF treatment cycle, we may recommend using Assisted Hatching on your next cycle.
This involves using a laser to gently thin the outer shell of the egg (called the zona). In some cases, particularly in older women, it is thought that the thickness of the outer shell (zona) can impede implantation. If the embryo can ‘hatch’ out of the shell more efficiently, it will then implant inside the uterus more easily.
Assisted Hatching will cost $275 in addition to the cost of an IVF/ICSI treatment cycle and is not covered by Medicare.
PolScope (Oosight Technology)
PolScope or Oosight Technology uses polarised light to study the genetic material in the egg.
This can help with the ICSIprocess, as the scientist performing the procedure can see where the genetic material is located and avoid injecting through this spindle. However, a more important function is the careful study of the structure of the genetic material inside the egg, which allows us to identify which eggs have the best chance of implanting.
PolScope will cost $375 in addition to the cost of an IVF/ICSI treatment cycle and is not covered by Medicare.
