Professor Michael ChapmanProfessor Chapman gained his initial Degree in Medicine from the University of Adelaide where he specialised in Obstetrics and Gynaecology before moving to the UK. Whilst in the UK Prof Chapman developed extensive experience in infertility, hormonal disorders and ART and worked at Queen Charlottes Maternity Hospital as Lecturer.
Prof Chapman became a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and gained his Doctorate of Medicine at the University of London. He was appointed Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in the University of London.
After 15 years Prof Chapman returned to Australia ultimately to become Head of School, Women’s and Children’s Health, University of New South Wales, He is also Clinical Director at St George Hospital Kogarah.
Prof Chapman has served as a Director of the Fertility Society of Australia and is currently Chairman of the IVF Director’s Group. He is an examiner for the Certificate in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility for the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, of which he is a Fellow.
Prof Chapman has run IVF services in London, Naples, Jeddah and Sydney. He lectures regularly at national and international meetings, has written over 100 scientific publications and many book chapters.
His particular interests are in IVF, polycystic ovarian syndrome, recurrent miscarriage and menstrual problems. Relatively uniquely for a fertility specialist, he maintains a private obstetric practice which has enabled him to follow his fertility patients from conception to birth.

A/Prof Peter IllingworthA/Prof Peter Illingworth is an accredited specialist obstetrician and gynaecologist with over 20 years specialist experience in the area of infertility practice. He started his medical training in the UK, receiving his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery and achieving his Doctorate of Medicine with honours at Dundee, UK.
Having completed his obstetric and gynaecology training, he worked as a Senior Consultant at the UK Medical Research Council Reproductive Science Unit in Edinburgh. Prof Illingworth has an international reputation in the field of Reproductive Medicine. He has published over 70 research papers and book chapters as well as providing regular media comment in Australia. He has served on a number of senior committees of the Australian National Health and Medical Research Council.
Prof Illingworth moved to Australia in early 1996 and completely subspecialised in Reproductive Endocrinology. He is Medical Director of IVFAustralia, Clinical Director of IVFAustralia Western Sydney, a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists UK, and is a Royal College examiner in the Certificate of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.

Dr Frank QuinnDr Frank Quinn trained in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at St George Hospital before gaining international experience in the United Kingdom working in the field of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.
After returning to Australia he completed his fellowship and subspecialty training in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (CREI). His Australian training has been augmented by a six-month fellowship in male infertility at the Lister Hospital, London.

Dr Graeme HughesDr Graeme Hughes has been specialising in fertility treatment for 30 years and is also an experienced Gynaecologist. He is a Senior Lecturer in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of New South Wales. He runs the largest ovulation induction clinic in NSW, at The Royal Hospital for Women in Sydney.

Dr Ric PorterDr Porter graduated in 1978 MBBS at the University of NSW having trained in gynaecology and obstetrics at Royal North Shore Hospital Sydney and at Groote Schuur Hospital in Cape Town. He furthered his training in reproductive medicine and IVF at the Middlesex and Cromwell Hospitals in London.
His postgraduate qualifications include Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (1985), Diploma in Diagnostic Ultrasound (1989), Certificate in the Sub-specialty of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (1994), and Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecologists (1996).
Dr Porter’s work is primarily involved with assisted reproductive technology such as IVF, ovulation induction, artificial insemination, and male related infertility.

Prof William LedgerProfessor William Ledger
Professor William Ledger, is a senior fertility specialist, obstetrician and gynaecologist, newly appointed Head and Professor of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Women’s & Children’s Department, Royal Hospital for Women, Head of the Discipline of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of NSW and senior fertility specialist with IVFAustralia.
Prof Ledger was most recently Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Sheffield, England. His contributions to infertility clinical practice and research have made him one of the highest profiled professors in the UK and Europe.
Prof Ledger began his career as Lecturer in the Department of Reproductive Medicine, University of Edinburgh, he obtained dual accreditation in obstetrics and gynaecology and subspecialist in Reproductive Medicine by the RCOG. This led to his appointment as Clinical Reader and Honorary Consultant in the Nuffield Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, University of Oxford in 1993.
He was appointed to the Chair in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at University of Sheffield, with Head of Academic Unit for Reproductive and Developmental Medicine, in 1999. Prof Ledger’s research interests focus on in vitro fertilisation and assisted reproduction, pathogenesis of endometriosis, impacts of reproductive disorders such as polycystic ovary syndrome on patient quality of life, differentiation of human embryonic stem cells, and health economic and demographic aspects of infertility.
Prof Ledger has 125 refereed papers to his name as well as being the joint author on 15 books and contributing to over 50 book chapters and publications. He has also been a Member of HFEA for the last 5 years which is the UK's independent regulator overseeing the use of gametes and embryos in fertility treatment and research.

Dr Jeffrey PerssonDr Jeffrey Persson trained and worked in Amsterdam before obtaining his Masters of Reproductive Medicine. In 1995 he received his Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and his Certificate in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (CREI) with his thesis “Genetic aspects of reproductive failure”.
Dr Persson has practised with one of Australia’s leading infertility units and has over a decade of experience in this subspecialty area.

Dr Robert LahoudDr Rob Lahoud holds a Bachelor Degree in Medicine and Surgery as well as a Masters in Reproductive Medicine and Human Genetics from The University of Sydney.
He has more than ten years experience as a Gynaecologist and has subspecialty qualifications in the field of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (CREI) in which he has worked for more than seven years, both in Australia and overseas in Europe.
Dr Lahoud is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. Dr Lahoud is co-ordinator of IVFAustralia’s Miscarriage Care Program, and Visiting Medical Officer at Royal North Shore, Hornsby and Sydney Adventist Hospitals.

Dr Andrew KanDr Andrew Kan graduated from the University of Sydney with honours in 1988. He commenced his Obstetrics and Gynaecology training in Sydney in 1991.
After attaining his membership of the Royal Australian College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists, he worked in London for three years in Guys, St Thomas’ and Lister Hospitals, to further his training in infertility. Dr Kan returned to Sydney and completed his Master of Medicine (Reproductive Health and Genetics) at the University of Sydney in 2002, prior to obtaining his sub-specialty certification in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (CREI) in 2003.

Dr Gavin Sacks
Dr Gavin Sacks is a fertility specialist and co-director of the IVFAustralia Miscarriage Programme. He qualified in the UK from the Universities of Cambridge and Oxford and received a PhD in reproductive immunology at the University of Oxford. He completed training in reproductive medicine in Sydney and London (UK equivalent of CREI) and moved to Sydney in 2005 having obtained fellowship of both the UK and Australian and New Zealand Royal Colleges of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.
Dr Sacks has particular interests in unexplained infertility, repeated IVF failure and miscarriage, and Pre-implantation Genetic Diagnosis. He is a strong advocate of exploring strategies to achieve a family that are both effective and holistic. He has pioneered research in reproductive immunology (including Natural Killer cell testing) and has initiated a large study on the role of acupuncture in IVF and miscarriage.
As a conjoint senior lecturer at UNSW and Staff Specialist at St George Hospital, Dr Sacks teaches and examines for the Bachelor of Medicine and Master of Reproductive Medicine degrees, supervises research, and lectures regularly at national and international meetings. He has over 30 publications to date.
He investigates and manages all aspects of both male and female infertility and maintains a private obstetric practice as a Visiting Medical Officer at Prince of Wales and St George Private Hospitals. This enables him to provide continuity of care for many of his patients from fertility investigation through to childbirth.

Dr Michael CostelloDr Michael Costello is a gynaecologist with subspecialty certification in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (CREI) who has also obtained a Masters in Reproductive Medicine at The University of Sydney.
After completing his specialty training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Dr Costello undertook further sub-speciality training in infertility at The Royal Hospital for Women in Sydney and the Jessop University Hospital in Sheffield, England.
His current appointments include Senior Lecturer in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with the University of NSW and Clinical Academic with the Department of Reproductive Medicine at the Royal Hospital for Women. He is a foundation member of the PCOS Australian Alliance (PCOSAA), member of the PCOSAA Strategic Advisory Group and chaired the Therapy for Infertility Guideline Development Group for the first ever evidenced based guideline on PCOS titled "Evidence-based guideline for the assessment and management of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome" which was approved by the Australian Government national Health and Medical Research Council (MHMRC) and published in 2011.
Dr Costello lectures regularly at local, national and international scientific meetings and has written over 50 medical publications including scientific journal papers and book chapters. His main research interests include Assisted Reproductive Treatments (including Intra-Uterine Insemination and IVF) and Polycystic Ovary Syndrome.

Dr Stephen SteigradDr Steigrad obtained his MB BS Degree from The University of Sydney in 1964. He commenced Obstetrics and Gynaecological training at the Royal Hospital for Women in 1966 and then undertook post-graduate studies in the United Kingdom where he gained his membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. He was awarded the Hallett prize of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and then gained the fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
Returning to Australia Dr Steigrad was appointed lecturer in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of NSW and then Deputy General Medical Superintendent at the Royal Hospital for Women, a position he held for 15 years before relinquishing this post to take over his current position as Director of the Department of Reproductive Medicine at the Royal Hospital for Women in Sydney.
He remains a clinical lecturer in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of NSW.
He was instrumental in the establishment of the Fertility Society of Australia and was treasurer, vice president and president and spent 11 years serving on its council. He established a donor insemination clinic at the hospital 25 years ago.
His special interests include donor gametes, the treatment of infertility in disabled couples and pre-implantation genetic diagnosis.

Dr Malcolm TuckerDr Malcolm Tucker is an experienced fertility specialist who has practised on the Central Coast for more than 20 years and has been closely involved with the development of Advanced Assisted Reproduction services on the Central Coast. Qualifying in Medicine in 1975, when he won the Alexander Prize for Surgery.
Dr Tucker commenced specialist training in 1978 at Royal North Shore Hospital Sydney. In 1981 he was awarded the Berkeley Fellowship from Gonville and Caius College Cambridge. He worked as Research Fellow to Professor Howard Jacobs at the Middlesex Hospital London, investigating the polycystic Ovary syndrome and has published papers on this subject.
Dr Tucker is a Fellow of both the UK and the Australian and New Zealand Royal Colleges of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. He is a member of the Fertility Society of Australia and the American Society of Reproductive Medicine. He maintains a keen interest in minimally invasive surgery and is a member of the Australian Gynaecological Endoscopy Society.
Dr Tucker is involved in the education of specialty trainees. He is a Conjoint Lecturer at the University of Newcastle and a Visiting Medical Officer at Gosford Hospital and is currently the Chairperson of the Division of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

Dr Nalini GayerDr Nalini Gayer obtained her Masters Degree at the University of Auckland, researched and published extensively while a lecturer at The University of Sydney before training as an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at Westmead Hospital. Dr Gayer underwent a further three years of subspeciality training in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (CREI) and undertook original clinical research in the dynamics of implantation which has helped a number of women achieve pregnancies.
Dr Gayer is a Visiting Medical Officer at Westmead Hospital, Honorary Visiting Medical Officer at the New Children’s Hospital and Clinical Lecturer at The University of Sydney. She is the only accredited female subspecialist who practises in all areas of infertility, endocrinology, adolescent gynaecology and obstetrics.
Dr Gayer is a skilled Endoscopic and Microtubal Surgeon and is heavily involved In teaching those skills to trainees in the subspeciality. She also teaches undergraduate students at Westmead Hospital and is a supervisor for subspeciality trainees at Westmead public and private hospitals.

Dr David GolovskyDr David Golovsky, is an experienced andrologist and urologist, and has been involved in the investigation and treatment of male infertility for over 30 years with a principal interest in microsurgery. Dr Golovsky’s surgical experience coupled with his expertise in male physiology and pathology provides IVFAustralia’s fertility team with additional specialist care for couples with extreme male factor infertility.
Graduating from the University of Sydney, before training at the College of Surgeons in London, Dr Golovsky returned to Australia in 1974 to begin work at Prince Henry Hospital, and has consulted at Concord Hospital and more recently St Vincent’s Hospital. As well as his role in further developing urology at St Vincent’s, he has been a past Chair of the Division of Surgery at the Hospital, past President of the Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand and past Chair of their Scientific Advisory Committee. He was the Convenor of the Societé Internationale d’Urologie World Congress in 1994. He is currently a member of the Scientific Advisory Committee of St Vincent’s Clinic Foundation and Vice President of the Wolper Jewish Hospital.
Dr Golovsky has had 30 years experience in urinary tract reconstruction and micro surgery specialising in reversal of vasectomy and relief of epididymal obstruction.

Dr Chandra KrishnanDr Chandra Krishnan is a graduate from The University of Sydney. Following completion of general specialty training, Dr Krishnan took up post-graduate fellowships in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery. During this time, he further advanced his experience in Laparoscopic and Reproductive Surgery and completed his subspecialty training in Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility.
Dr Krishnan is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, and a member of the Fertility Society of Australia. As an Obstetrician, Dr Krishnan understands the need for dedicated and personalised care required for the resulting IVF pregnancies. Dr Wafa SamenDr Wafa Samen is an accredited specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with over 20 years specialist experience. She gained her initial degree in medicine from Iraq where she specialised and trained in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and she is a fellow of the Arab Board of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.

Dr Thilee SivananthanDr Thilee Sivananthan graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Adelaide in 1996. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG) and has completed a Master of Medicine (Reproductive Health and Human Genetics) at the University of Sydney.
Dr Sivananthan is in the second year of subspeciality training for the certificate in reproductive endocrinology and infertility with RANZCOG and has extensive obstetrics and gynaecology experience having worked at Westmead, Liverpool and Nepean hospitals in Sydney.
Dr Sivananthan’s special interests are in IVF and ectopic pregnancy. He plans to provide a private obstetric practice, enabling him to offer continuity of care for his fertility patients from early pregnancy to birth.

Dr Gavin Kemball
Dr Gavin Kemball studied medicine at St Marys Hospital in London. In 1995 he gained a place on the London training programme for Obstetrics and Gynaecology, where he had the privilege to work in many of the leading London teaching hospitals. He was awarded his membership of the Royal College in 1997.
In 2001, he spent 18 months in Sydney as a Reproductive Fellow, working at IVF South, which became one of the founding clinics of IVFAustralia.
Upon returning to England he was appointed as a consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Stoke Mandeville Hospital. Alongside his daily responsibilities on the birthing suite, he ran a specialist menopause and endocrinology clinic as well as leading the colposcopy service, and dealt with routine major gynaecological problems. Dr Kemball also worked in private practice in a specialist IVF clinic carrying out a full range of assisted reproduction services including IUI, IVF and ICSI.
In 2009, he moved back to Australia to take up the post of Director of Womens Services in Gosford Hospital NSW. Here he helped run the Obstetric and Gynaecological service to the public patients on the Central Coast of NSW.
In 2010 he was awarded his FRANZCOG, and since then has begun working in private practice, focusing mainly on IVF, reproductive endocrinology, menstrual irregularities, laparoscopic surgery, menopause, colposcopy and general gynaecology.
He has now re-located to Sydney to concentrate on IVF and gynaecology, and practises out of IVFAustralia's City, Kogarah, Miranda, and Gosford clinics.

Dr Juliette KochDr Juliette Koch graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Adelaide. She has been in the specialty of obstetrics and gynaecology for the last 7 years at the Royal Hospital for Women, Randwick and most recently held the position of Senior Registrar at the RHW. Dr Koch is a member of the Royal Australian College of Obstetrics and Gynaecologists, and received the highest award in Australia and New Zealand for her RANZCOG membership exams.
Dr Koch is currently widening her experience in reproductive endocrinology and infertility (CREI) with IVFAustralia. She is currently involved in a randomised control trial of the use of Metformin in PCOS and IVF, analysing pregnancy outcomes in twice frozen embryos and, and assessing the effectiveness of the RANZCOG surgical skills teaching program in first year trainees, which will be published later this year.
Dr Koch’s special interests are general infertility, PCOS and male infertility.
Dr Koch consults from IVFAustralia Eastern Suburbs in Maroubra, and also currently is a CREI trainee at the RHW.

Dr Michele KwikDr Michele Kwik graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery with Honours at University of New South Wales. Dr Kwik is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Obstetrics and Gynaecologists, and is a Conjoint Associate Lecturer at the University of New South Wales and clinical lecturer at the University of Sydney. She is a VMO at manly Hospital and Royal North Shore Hospital where she conducts a menopause clinic.
Dr Kwik is actively involved in research and has published and presented work at national and international forums. She has experience in reproductive endocrinology and infertility including andrology, paediatric / adolescent gynae and fertility preservation in cancer patients. She has also investigated the treatment of menopausal symptoms in women who have had breast cancer, and has published on this topic.
Dr Kwik's special interests are in the treatment of general infertility, PCOS, adolescent gynaecology, menopause, endometriosis, male infertility and fertility preservation in cancer patients.
She is able to consult in Mandarin.

Dr Marcela MartinDr Marcela Martin graduated from medicine from Sydney University. She specialised in Obstetrics and Gynaecology obtaining her fellowship from the Royal College of Australian Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. She then gained further training in reproductive endocrinology with IVFAustralia and obtained her diploma in this field. She has also obtained a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Genetics. Her special interests include recurrent miscarriages, polycystic ovarian syndrome, menstrual disorders and infertility. She is keen to see her patients well supported through the various pathways that fertility treatments take them and is hoping to share their joy in delivering their baby safely. Dr Martin practises from her IVFAustralia rooms at Kogarah and Miranda. She performs surgery and general obstetrics at both St George Private and Kareena Private Hospitals.

Dr Raouf FaragDr Farag is an experienced obstetrician and gynaecologist offering a range of services from investigation and diagnosis to comprehensive treatment for infertility and advanced, minimally invasive pelvic surgery.
Dr Farag undertook his specialist training at John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle and at Westmead Hospital in Sydney. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. He is also a member of the Fertility Society of Australia (FSA), Australian Gynaecological Endoscopy Society (AGES), and Australian Association of Vaginal and Incontinence Surgeons (AAVIS).

Dr Louise Fay
Dr Louise Fay is a trained specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and has been recently appointed Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. She studied medicine at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland where she graduated with honours.
Dr Fay obtained her Certificate of Specialist Training from the Institute of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Ireland in 2010. Following on she obtained her Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 2011. Prior to her appointment in Sydney Dr Fay was consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at the National Maternity Hospital and Merrion Fertility Clinic, Dublin. From 2006-2009 Dr Fay undertook a clinical fellowship in reproductive endocrinology, infertility and laparoscopic surgery with IVFAustralia and the Royal Hospital for Women, Sydney.
Dr Fay is also a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in London and the Royal College of Physicians in Ireland. During her general specialist training Dr Fay also completed higher diplomas in Genito-urinary medicine, Forensic gynaecology and Colposcopy.
