IVFAustralia provides the most extensive and convenient network of fertility centres and consulting sites in and around Sydney and the Central Coast.Our surgical facilities and laboratory are co-located in three locations across Sydney, which avoid the known hazards of transporting fragile eggs and embryos.

IVFAustralia’s network of care allows patients the opportunity to attend specialist consultations and undertake blood and ultrasound treatment monitoring at clinic locations either close to home or work. Our City Clinic is conveniently located beside Wynyard railway station. Dr Jeffrey Persson is the Clinical Director. Dr Graeme Hughes, Dr Gavin Sacks and Dr David Golovsky consult at the Clinic. Patients can choose to have any day surgical procedures conducted at Marboura, Greenwich (Northern Sydney) or Westmead day surgery facilities. The clinic opens at 7am for blood tests and ultrasound monitoring for patient convenience.

Infertility & Gynaecology

Dr Graeme Hughes

Dr Graeme Hughes has been specialising in fertility treatment for 30 years and is also an experienced Gynaecologist. He is a Senior Lecturer in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of New South Wales. He runs the largest ovulation induction clinic in NSW, at The Royal Hospital for Women in Sydney.

Dr Hughes is a Senior Examiner for the Australian Medical Council, a Visiting Medical Officer at the Royal Hospital for Women in Sydney, and at the Prince of Wales Private Hospital in Randwick.

Dr Hughes is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and a member of the Fertility Society of Australia.

Dr Hughes’ special interest is ovulation stimulation and the treatment of unexplained infertility.

Dr Hughes is the Clinical Director at IVFAustralia Eastern Suburbs (Maroubra).  He also consults from IVFAustralia Bondi Junction and City clinics.

Dr Jeffrey Persson

Dr Jeffrey Persson trained and worked in Amsterdam before obtaining his Masters of Reproductive Medicine. In 1995 he received his Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and his Certificate in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (CREI) with his thesis “Genetic aspects of reproductive failure”.

Dr Persson has practised with one of Australia’s leading infertility units and has over a decade of experience in this subspecialty area.

Dr Persson currently lectures at Sydney University and is actively involved in clinical research and is published on genetic aspects of infertility.

Dr Persson has extensive knowledge and experience in both male and female infertility.

Dr Persson is Clinical Director of IVFAustralia City clinic, and he also consults at IVFAustralia Northshore (Greenwich).

Urologist, Male Infertility

Dr David Golovsky

Dr David Golovsky, is an experienced andrologist and urologist, and has been involved in the investigation and treatment of male infertility for over 30 years with a principal interest in microsurgery. Dr Golovsky’s surgical experience coupled with his expertise in male physiology and pathology provides IVFAustralia’s fertility team with additional specialist care for couples with extreme male factor infertility.

Graduating from the University of Sydney, before training at the College of Surgeons in London, Dr Golovsky returned to Australia in 1974 to begin work at Prince Henry Hospital, and has consulted at Concord Hospital and more recently St Vincent’s Hospital. As well as his role in further developing urology at St Vincent’s, he has been a past Chair of the Division of Surgery at the Hospital, past President of the Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand and past Chair of their Scientific Advisory Committee. He was the Convenor of the Societé Internationale d’Urologie World Congress in 1994. He is currently a member of the Scientific Advisory Committee of St Vincent’s Clinic Foundation and Vice President of the Wolper Jewish Hospital.

Dr Golovsky has had 30 years experience in urinary tract reconstruction and micro surgery specialising in reversal of vasectomy and relief of epididymal obstruction.

Dr Golovsky consults from IVFAustralia City providing a male infertility clinic one day per week.

Dr Michele Kwik

Dr Michele Kwik graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery with Honours at University of New South Wales.  Dr Kwik is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Obstetrics and Gynaecologists, and is a Conjoint Associate Lecturer at the University of New South Wales and clinical lecturer at the University of Sydney.  She is a VMO at manly Hospital and Royal North Shore Hospital where she conducts a menopause clinic.

Dr Kwik is actively involved in research and has published and presented work at national and international forums.  She has experience in reproductive endocrinology and infertility including andrology, paediatric / adolescent gynae and fertility preservation in cancer patients.  She has also investigated the treatment of menopausal symptoms in women who have had breast cancer, and has published on this topic.

Dr Kwik's special interests are in the treatment of general infertility, PCOS, adolescent gynaecology, menopause, endometriosis, male infertility and fertility preservation in cancer patients.

She is able to consult in Mandarin.

Dr Kwik consults from IVFAustralia Northern Sydney in Greenwich, Dee Why and York Street and the PCOS Clinic at IVFAustralia Greenwich.

Infertility, Obstetrics and Gynaecology

Dr Gavin Kemball

 

Dr Gavin Kemball studied medicine at St Marys Hospital in London. In 1995 he gained a place on the London training programme for Obstetrics and Gynaecology, where he had the privilege to work in many of the leading London teaching hospitals. He was awarded his membership of the Royal College in 1997.

In 2001, he spent 18 months in Sydney as a Reproductive Fellow, working at IVF South, which became one of the founding clinics of IVFAustralia.

Upon returning to England he was appointed as a consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Stoke Mandeville Hospital. Alongside his daily responsibilities on the birthing suite, he ran a specialist menopause and endocrinology clinic as well as leading the colposcopy service, and dealt with routine major gynaecological problems. Dr Kemball also worked in private practice in a specialist IVF clinic carrying out a full range of assisted reproduction services including IUI, IVF and ICSI.

In 2009, he moved back to Australia to take up the post of Director of Womens Services in Gosford Hospital NSW. Here he helped run the Obstetric and Gynaecological service to the public patients on the Central Coast of NSW.

In 2010 he was awarded his FRANZCOG, and since then has begun working in private practice, focusing mainly on IVF, reproductive endocrinology, menstrual irregularities, laparoscopic surgery, menopause, colposcopy and general gynaecology.

He has now re-located to Sydney to concentrate on IVF and gynaecology, and practises out of IVFAustralia's City, Kogarah, Miranda, and Gosford clinics.

Dr Louise Fay

 

 Dr Louise Fay is a trained specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and has been recently appointed Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. She studied medicine at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland where she graduated with honours.

Dr Fay obtained her Certificate of Specialist Training   from the Institute of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Ireland in 2010. Following on she obtained her Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 2011. Prior to her appointment in Sydney Dr Fay was consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at the National Maternity Hospital and Merrion Fertility Clinic, Dublin. From 2006-2009 Dr Fay undertook a clinical fellowship in reproductive endocrinology, infertility and laparoscopic surgery with IVFAustralia and the Royal Hospital for Women, Sydney.

Dr Fay is also a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in London and the Royal College of Physicians in Ireland. During her general specialist training Dr Fay also completed higher diplomas in Genito-urinary medicine, Forensic gynaecology and Colposcopy.
