Dr Frank Quinn

Infertility, Reproductive Endocrinology and Gynaecology

Dr Frank Quinn trained in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at St George Hospital before gaining international experience in the United Kingdom working in the field of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.

After returning to Australia he completed his fellowship and subspecialty training in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (CREI). His Australian training has been augmented by a six-month fellowship in male infertility at the Lister Hospital, London.

Dr Quinn is Clinical Director of IVFAustralia Northshore and Central Coast Clinics and a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.

Dr Quinn has particular interests in male infertility and has research experience in the area of oocyte donation.

Dr Quinn consults from IVFAustralia Northshore and Central Coast clinics.



Dr Ric Porter

MB BS FRCOG FRANZCOG DDU CREI

Dr Porter graduated in 1978 MBBS at the University of NSW having trained in gynaecology and obstetrics at Royal North Shore Hospital Sydney and at Groote Schuur Hospital in Cape Town. He furthered his training in reproductive medicine and IVF at the Middlesex and Cromwell Hospitals in London.

His postgraduate qualifications include Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (1985), Diploma in Diagnostic Ultrasound (1989), Certificate in the Sub-specialty of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (1994), and Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecologists (1996).

Dr Porter’s work is primarily involved with assisted reproductive technology such as IVF, ovulation induction, artificial insemination, and male related infertility.

Dr Porter is a founding Director of IVFAustralia and company spokesperson. He currently practices within IVFAustralia Northshore and has a private obstetrics and infertility practice in St Leonards.



Dr Robert Lahoud

MB BS (UniSyd) MMed FRANZCOG CREI

Infertility, Reproductive Endocrinology & Gynaecology

Dr Rob Lahoud holds a Bachelor Degree in Medicine and Surgery as well as a Masters in Reproductive Medicine and Human Genetics from The University of Sydney.

He has more than ten years experience as a Gynaecologist and has subspecialty qualifications in the field of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (CREI) in which he has worked for more than seven years, both in Australia and overseas in Europe.

Dr Lahoud is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. Dr Lahoud is co-ordinator of IVFAustralia’s Miscarriage Care Program, and Visiting Medical Officer at Royal North Shore, Hornsby and Sydney Adventist Hospitals.

Dr Lahoud runs a polycystic ovary syndrome clinic at Hornsby Hospital and IVFAustralia Northshore, and is a specialist at the menopause clinic at Royal North Shore Hospital.

Dr Lahoud has developed a special interest in the management of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), menopause and miscarriage.

Dr Lahoud is Clinical Director at IVFAustralia Castle Hill.  He also consults from IVFAustralia Northshore and 



Dr Jeffrey Persson

MD FRANZCOG CREI

Infertility, Reproductive Endocrinology & Gynaecology

Dr Jeffrey Persson trained and worked in Amsterdam before obtaining his Masters of Reproductive Medicine. In 1995 he received his Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and his Certificate in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (CREI) with his thesis “Genetic aspects of reproductive failure”.

Dr Persson has practised with one of Australia’s leading infertility units and has over a decade of experience in this subspecialty area.

Dr Persson currently lectures at Sydney University and is actively involved in clinical research and is published on genetic aspects of infertility.

Dr Persson has extensive knowledge and experience in both male and female infertility.

Dr Persson is Clinical Director of IVFAustralia City clinic, and he also consults at IVFAustralia Northshore (Greenwich). x



Dr Peter Leung

Infertility, Reproductive Endocrinology, Gynaecology & Laparoscopic Surgery

Dr Peter Leung obtained his MB ChB Degree fromthe Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1993, and following further training obtained a Masters of Science Degree in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2002.

Dr Leung underwent his Obstetrician and Gynaecology specialty training at Prince of Wales Hospital and is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. Recently, Dr Leung has completed his subspecialty training in Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility in Sydney and Christchurch, and obtained his Masters in Reproductive Medicine at the University of Western Sydney.

He is a Visiting Medical Officer at Hornsby Ku-Ring-Gai Hospital. Dr Leung has a keen interest in infertility treatment, laparoscopic surgery, management of endometriosis and gamete donation.

Dr Leung speaks fluent Cantonese and Mandarin.

Dr Leung consults from IVFAustralia Northshore (Greenwich), Western Sydney (Castle Hill) as well as private rooms in Sussex Street.



Dr Katrina Rowan

MBBS (Hons) Dip Obs MRANZCOG

Infertility, Reproductive Endocrinology and Gynaecology

Dr Katrina Rowan graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery with Honours at Monash University, Melbourne in 2001.   She has since trained in general obstetrics and gynaecology at the Royal Women's Hospital and Mercy Hospital for Women in Melbourne, attaining a diploma and then membership of the Royal Australian College of Obstetrics and Gynaecologists.

Dr Rowan is currently undertaking subspecialty training for the certificate in reproductive endocrinology and infertility with RANZCOG. 
 
Dr Rowan has undertaken research in the area of the support of early pregnancy which has recently been published internationally.
Dr Rowan's special interests are infertility, recurrent miscarriage, endometriosis and laparoscopic surgery.
 
Dr Rowan consults from IVFAustralia Northshore in Greenwich.



A/Prof Peter Illingworth

A/Prof Peter Illingworth is an accredited specialist obstetrician and gynaecologist with over 20 years specialist experience in the area of infertility practice. He started his medical training in the UK, receiving his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery and achieving his Doctorate of Medicine with honours at Dundee, UK.

Having completed his obstetric and gynaecology training, he worked as a Senior Consultant at the UK Medical Research Council Reproductive Science Unit in Edinburgh. Prof Illingworth has an international reputation in the field of Reproductive Medicine. He has published over 70 research papers and book chapters as well as providing regular media comment in Australia. He has served on a number of senior committees of the Australian National Health and Medical Research Council.

Prof Illingworth moved to Australia in early 1996 and completely subspecialised in Reproductive Endocrinology. He is Medical Director of IVFAustralia, Clinical Director of IVFAustralia Western Sydney, a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists UK, and is a Royal College examiner in the Certificate of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.

Prof Illingworth has a special interest in reproductive endocrinology and disorders of female fertility.

Prof Illingworth consults from IVFAustralia Western Sydney (Westmead and Liverpool).



Dr Iris Wang

MD (Syd) FRANZCOG CREI

Dr Iris Wang is a specialist obstetrician and gynaecologist with sub-specialty certification in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.

Dr Wang obtained her Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Sydney. She also achieved her Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Sydney. Dr Wang is a Visiting Medical Officer at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and the Mater Hospital at North Sydney.

Dr Wang consults from her private rooms at Chatswood and the RPAH Medical Centre. She has published in the areas of menstrual disorders, laparoscopic surgery, gynaecological endocrinology and general gynaecology. She is also involved in regular teaching activities for residents and medical students.

Dr Wang has a special interest in reproductive endocrinology, female infertility, recurrent pregnancy loss and menstrual disorders.

Dr Wang consults from private rooms in Chatswood.



Emeritus Prof Doug Saunders

Emeritus Prof Douglas Saunders has 30 years of experience in infertility management. He is Emeritus Professor of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at The University of Sydney.

Prof Saunders is a former President of the Fertility Society of Australia, and currently sits on the International Affairs Committee of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine.

In 1980, he founded the Royal North Shore Hospital IVF program, which became the Human Reproduction Unit in 1981, and subsequently North Shore A.R.T. and now, IVFAustralia.
Prof Saunders’ particular research interests include the follow-up of IVF/ICSI pregnancies, and the children that result.

Prof Saunders was most recently Chair of the Reproductive Technology Accreditation Committee (RTAC), a sub-committee of the Fertility Society of Australia, which accredits all IVF Units in Australia and New Zealand.
